A leading international bank in Shanghai is urgently looking for high caliber candidate to take up the position in the commercial banking group

Job purpose

Reporting to the Country Head of Commercial Banking, China, the role is to manage a portfolio comprised of trade oriented exporters within a specific region or area, and to build revenues under this portfolio through active account management and dedicated sales calling/new customer acquisition. Also responsible for being a good receiver for referrals and to introduce back to TW for some Taiwanese affiliates/related companies' parent companies’ banking opportunities.

Accountabilities

Financials

•To increase customer revenue / profitability

•To acquire new qualified exporters in accordance with existing program parameters (Credit Memo)

•Existing vendor/customer maintenance with the aim to secure / enhance our share of wallet

•Increase trade related revenue derived from sales of trade banking services

•Promote maximum usage of the electronic trade banking products

•Cross sell and drive usage of the full range of banking products/capabilities, especially cash (AOL) and GM/Investment.

•To provide feedback and suggestion to modify/amend existing product programs, in order to increase the success sales calling ratio

•To obtain market/competitor information for benchmarking and product program development/enhancement

•Market orientation -displaying comprehensive awareness of market and technological developments and using this knowledge effectively on the job

•Sources prospects and develops new customer relationships

•Provides financial advice to customers and sells appropriate bank products and services to those prospects and clients

•Identifies and successfully capitalizes on cross-sell opportunities and makes appropriate referrals

•Entrepreneurial in style – recognizing market opportunities and driving aggressively for bottom-line improvements and delivering revenues in a cost effective way

Process

•Developed decision-making, communications and persuasion skills

•Strong knowledge of risk management - with a history of monitoring client accounts to ensure they are in line with risk management guidelines and policies

•Sound understanding of lending and credit approval processes, rules and regulations

•Aptitude for exercising good judgment and discretion

Job Requirements

Education:

•University education – minimum. MBA advantageous.

Experience:

•Banking knowledge-base, achieved in a major global bank

•Sales experience – minimum five to ten years Trade products and services sales experience, achieved in an international bank in the relevant region.

•Skillful People Management experience

Skills:

•Good English - both written and verbal, local languages in specific markets.

•Market, Trade Product and Sales skills

•E-Commerce exposure

•IT basics
