BGI Growth Partners is a small team evaluating, executing and nurturing strategic investments on behalf of BGI. These strategic investments will be focused in the financial services sector, with a concentration in opportunities relevant to the investment management value chain.

The Principal will be jointly responsible for all elements of the investment process. He/she will be called upon to provide insight to inform investment decisions, to provide guidance to portfolio companies, and to represent BGI Growth Partners in the Venture Capital community.

Responsibilities

• Sourcing of new investment opportunities through multiple channels

• Development of relationships with the Venture Capital community

• Due Diligence on investment opportunities

• Deal execution

• Board observer and strategic oversight of select portfolio companies

• Business development initiatives to encourage ties between portfolio companies and the Barclays ecosystem

• Ownership of specific thematic research streams

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5-years successful experience in corporate development/venture capital or in corporate strategy/financial services consulting

• Minimum of Principal-level (or equivalent) representation at previous employer

• General knowledge of financial services and investment management required

• Knowledge of and relationships with BGI a plus

• MBA/CFA preferred

• Possess exceptional analytical skills (quantitative and qualitative), thrive in an entrepreneurial environment, strong attention to detail, and be passionate about evaluating a wide variety of businesses
